In early 2007 we began a Hosted Solution program for smaller independent schools with limited IT resources. By hosting the software at the secure Senior Systems Hosted Solution Center, we provided the necessary hardware while handling all maintenance, upgrade, and backup processes for the school.

The response was so overwhelming from both small and large schools that we quickly implemented a full-fledged Senior Systems Hosted Solution program, which allows us to accommodate schools of any size. We now have a wide-range of schools, with student enrollments between fifty and several thousand, taking advantage of the benefits of a hosted solution.

Both our web-based My BackPack and our modules are available in the hosted format. By hosting on-site we are able to ensure that all backup, maintenance and upgrades are done in the best possible manner and all issues are quickly handled by the people who are most knowledgeable with the products. Our customers enjoy the full benefits of a hosting facility, without the necessary additional costs or IT resources.

All of our servers for the hosted option are in our on-site, secure Senior Systems Hosted Solution Center, which was specially designed for this purpose. The Center is maintained by Senior Systems staff in a keycard access-limited area which is restricted to essential personnel. The Center also has its own separate climate control and alternate power source for maximum performance and security. Data backups are performed at regular intervals, and then stored on tape-based media locally and transmitted to a secure remote data center.

The Senior Systems Hosted Solution uses Citrix Presentation Server technology to host applications and facilitate a secure user experience. All data is transmitted via a secure SSL VPN gateway from our Oracle database servers to the end-user’s desktop over the internet. No data is transmitted to local workstations without explicit permission from the end-user. The Senior Systems My BackPack portion of the hosted solution provides the same secure login using a VeriSign Secured SSL Certificate for data transmission across the internet.
